Dear parents and carers
Celebrating World Teachers’ Day
Last week, we had the pleasure of celebrating World Teachers' Day, a day to recognise the dedication and passion our teachers bring to their work. Our teachers inspire, support, and guide our students every day, nurturing a love of learning and growth. We are immensely grateful for their commitment and for the difference they make in our school community. Thank you to each of our amazing teachers!
Catholic Leader’s Day
On Thursday last week, I had the opportunity to attend Catholic Leader's Day, which was filled with enriching sessions aimed at supporting leadership within our Catholic Education System. We were honoured to hear from Ms. Barbara Coupar, the Director of the Scottish Catholic Education Service, who presented information to us about the Good Shepherd leadership pathway. Her insights offered valuable perspectives on how leadership can be a force for good, guiding with compassion and strength. It was a truly inspiring day, reinforcing the power of strong, faith-filled leadership in our schools.
Colour Run – Friday 1st November
We are eagerly looking forward to the Colour Run on Friday, 1st November! A huge thank you to our Community Council and all the parent and community volunteers who have been instrumental in planning and hosting this event. The Colour Run promises to be a vibrant celebration, and as an added bit of fun, some teachers (myself included!) will be getting slimed. It’s a wonderful chance for our community to come together, enjoy some laughter, and support our school. We can’t wait to see you all there!
Good wishes
Trazel
This week during the weekend Masses and in Bulletin reflections, we are reminded of the tough, but fair and loving truth that Jesus always listens to our prayers, and in return, he gives us what we need, which isn’t always what we want. We need to trust in God and his plan – he can see all of creation and the whole plan. We are a small but significant part of that plan. God loves us mercifully and without condition. He will always do what is right for us and right by us. Often we cannot fully see or comprehend his plan or his answer to our prayers. Jesus is constantly by our side, to be of service to us. He is constantly asking us what he can do for us and in his wisdom, while we won’t always know, Jesus will know how to care for us.
We were also encouraged to remember that often we can be the answer to someone else’s prayers – we need to pay close attention to what is happening around us, listen to others and listen to God in prayer so we can rise to the challenge and answer each time we are called to serve.
Let us pray together:
Loving and caring God, when others cry out, help us to listen and not turn them away. When their cries are to us, give us the strength and courage to respond on your behalf. When we cry out to you, help us to listen too, and rejoice in the answers you give. Amen.
