Welcome to Term 4!
Dear parents and carers,
Welcome back to the final and exciting term of the school year! We hope you had a restful and enjoyable break with your families, and are ready for the busy but rewarding weeks ahead. Term 4 always brings a sense of anticipation as we wrap up another year of learning, growth, and achievement.
We are blessed to have new students commencing with us this term and we can't wait to meet our new Kindy cohort for 2025!
As we enter this new term, we continue to focus on providing our students with enriching educational experiences, from classroom learning to extracurricular activities. There is much to look forward to, including upcoming sports events, end-of-year celebrations, and important academic milestones.
This is also a time when many of our students, especially those in Year 6, prepare to transition into the next chapter of their schooling journey. We are committed to supporting all students through this important time with guidance and care, helping them to finish the year well.
We encourage you to stay engaged with the school community throughout Term 4. There will be plenty of opportunities to get involved, whether by attending school events, volunteering, or simply staying connected with your child’s learning. Your support is invaluable and greatly appreciated. The TeamKids team are working on offering a culture club and a cooking club during their after school care program. They have asked for parent input into how these clubs might support all of the cultures at Good Shepherd.
Let’s make this final term one to remember as we continue working together for the success and well-being of every student.
Warm regards,
Trazel
Principal
We are human with idiosyncrasies and flaws. We all make mistakes. Each time we err or each time we fall, it is important to pick ourselves back up and try again.
We never have to feel unworthy or that our best is not good enough for God. What we do and who we are is more than worthy of God’s unconditional love. We are made in God’s image, exactly as we are. We are not meant to be anyone else.
God chose each of us, because he loves us just as we are, to carry out God’s important work. We won’t always get it right, and that’s ok. It is our flaws, our mistakes, our experiences, our humanness that shapes us and makes us who we are. Importantly, it is because of who we are that we are the exact right person to carry out our part of God’s mission. We need to let go of our fears, worries, challenges and instead trust God and have faith in the journey.
The Holy Spirit is by our side, to protect, guide, transform, enlighten and empower. Entrusted by God we have each been gifted to bear fruit that is uniquely our own that will go on to motivate and make a difference in the lives of others.
Ponder how we each uniquely bear our own fruits of the Holy Spirit.
- Pray to the Holy Spirit
- Hand over our fears and concerns about getting it right
- Trust the Spirit to work in us and through us
- Bear fruit that makes a remarkable difference in the lives of others
Let us pray together:
Wise, generous and ever-loving God
Help us to see to see ourselves as you see us – worthy, remarkable, capable of great things – loved unconditionally. Help us to see the value and worth of every person we encounter.
May we trust you and be guided and empowered by the Holy Spirit – living each day in: LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS AND SELF-CONTROL.
Amen.
