National Peacekeepers' Day 14 September
Since 1947, Australian defence personnel, police and civilians have been involved in United Nations (UN) missions and other multinational peace operations. Most recently, thousands of Australians have been deployed in anti-terrorism campaigns in Afghanistan, the Middle East and South West Africa.
